Fostering an authentic connection to place, Locale is a contemporary interpretation of Leederville’s historic architectural character. Embedding seamlessly into the streetscape, the building fabric is natural and inherently timeless, composed predominantly of brick and steel. Rounded edges bring a softness and elegance to the form, enhanced by lush landscaping from every angle.

The design takes cues from the surrounding semi-industrial location and the historical fabric of the area. Current day Leederville was strongly defined by its industrial heritage and post-war European migration which was instrumental in changing the architectural landscape of the area. Brickwork, concrete, terrazzo and arches were all features that were incorporated into new buildings - styles and memories from what was left behind. This new project reinterprets these ideas and adapts them to the current day which makes it resonate with the culture and energy of modern Leederville.
